CONWAY — Sue Manche Fergusson, 84, died at her home in Conway, Ark. on April 2, 2012 from complications of Alzheimer’s disease. She was born in Sacramento, Calif. and lived for many years in the Sulphur Springs community west of Pine Bluff.
Sue was the only child of Alonzo and Susie McKinney Manche. She attended Watson Chapel High School. As a youngster, she was a singer in her father’s band. She taught Sunday school for many years at Sulphur Springs Baptist Church and in later years was a member of Watson Chapel Baptist Church. She was a licensed cosmetologist. She owned and operated a salon in Sulphur Springs for several decades. She also did volunteer work with the Contact Helpline. She loved painting, fishing, camping, and traveling.
She was married to V.L. (Bebo) Fergusson for 67 years. She was the beloved mother of Sharon of Conway; H. Layne, deceased; Randy of Tyler, Texas; Barrett, deceased; and Dane of Dallas, Texas. She was the adoptive mother of Megan Fergusson of Conway. She had three grandchildren, Kim Fergusson of Conway; Matt Krause of Herington, Kansas; and Nick Yarbrough of Fayetteville. She had three great-grandchildren Logan, Spencer, and Emilyn. She was the aunt of Lisa and Jeff the children of Harold and Frances Fergusson and the great-aunt of Garrett Fergusson.
Visitation will be from 11-1 p.m., Thursday, April 5, 2012 at Ralph Robinson and Son in Pine Bluff. The funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. Burial will be private.
The family will welcome visitors until 5pm at the Sulphur Springs Baptist Church following the interment. The pallbearers are Kirby Raymick, Keith Raymick, David Rodgers, Jeff Fergusson, Nick Yarbrough, Mike Lawson and Bobby McKinney.
