Sporting News gives Adams another All-American honor

FAYETTEVILLE — Arkansas receiver Joe Adams can add one more postseason honor to his collection.

The senior was named to The Sporting News’ All-American team on Thursday as a punt returner after leading the nation in punt return average (16.2 yards) and touchdowns (three). It was one of four All-American teams Adams has landed on since the end of the 2011 season. He was named a first-team All-American by the Football Writers Association of America and was a second-team selection on The Associated Press and Walter Camp teams this month.

Adams is a finalist for the Paul Hornung Award, which will recognize the nation’s most versatile player on Feb. 2. He also was named Southeastern Conference Special Teams Player of the Year.
