Ashlynn Ebarb’s senior art thesis exhibition, “Suppression,” will be on display Nov. 6-20 in the Glassblock Gallery in the Fred J. Taylor Library and Technology Center at the University of Arkansas at Monticello. A public reception will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Nov. 14.
“Ebarb’s exhibition features works in various mediums, including pen and ink, graphite, watercolor, oil, photography and collage, addressing issues of anxiety, depression, angst and apprehension,” according to a news release.
“By depicting images of herself through self-portraits and other representations, Ebarb’s work provokes emotive qualities related to obscured and suppressed issues of mental health,” according to the release.
The Glassblock Gallery is free and open to the public. The gallery’s hours are Mondays from 9-11 a.m. and noon to 4 p.m.; Tuesdays from 9 a.m. to noon; and Wednesdays and Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
