The Grand Prairie Quilt Society met Oct. 9 at the First Christian Church fellowship hall in Stuttgart, with five members present.
The leader opened the meeting with the Thought for the Day: “My doctor recommended more fiber, so I’m headed to the fabric store.”
The September minutes and treasurer’s report were given. October happy birthday greetings were extended to two members.
Old Business: September’s field trip to Stitching Post in Little Rock was postponed to a future date.
New Business: Several future field trips were proposed: to the Historic Arkansas Museum to see a member’s spinning and weaving exhibit; to a fabric store; and to see the Arkansas Quilt Trail in Jefferson County.

The leader brought several quilt books and magazines for the treasure table for the members to take home.

A memorial will be given by the quilt club in memory of Winnie Cotten.
The quilt club will hold its Nov. 13 meeting at the B&J Deli in Roe to have lunch and to view quilts. Members will meet at the church at 9:30 a.m. to carpool to Roe.
