Saracen Landing will host a fall festival featuring a 5K event, sweet potato pie contest, health fair and other activities, Saturday, Sept. 23.
”Enjoy free health screenings, the farmers market, cooking demonstrations and much more,” a spokesman said in a news release. “This is all about uniting your heart, mind and sole.”
The festival will also feature nutritional information, face paintings, yoga for children, Hoola Hoop and Double Dutch contests and a one mile challenge for children. The farmers market will also be open at Saracen Landing.
5K Run/Walk/Dance
The community is invited to register for the Jefferson County fifth annual 5K Run/Walk/Dance To End Childhood Obesity Sept. 23. Registration is from 7-7:45 a.m. and the event will begin at 8 a.m. at the amphitheater at Regional Park. A shuttle will return to the amphitheater. Sweet Potato Pie Bake-Off
The Sweet Potato Pie Bake off will be held in memory of Jimmie Lee Edwards. Judging begins at 10 a.m.
“Do you always get compliments on your homemade sweet potato pie? Then enter our sixth annual Sweet Potato Pie Bake-Off,” the spokesman said.
