The Pine Bluff Police Department will host a Walk to end Domestic Violence from noon to 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 17. The walk will begin and end at the Civic Center steps facing Eighth Avenue. Lunch will be provided.
According to a news release, supporters include Mayor Shirley Washington, Police Chief Ivan Whitfield, assistant Police Chief Kelvin Sergeant, and the Criminal Justice Program at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff.
“Recognizing that an act of domestic violence occurs every minute, we would like for you to join us in this walk,” a spokesman said in the release. “If you have been a victim, suffered a loss of a loved one or know someone who has been a victim, please come and show your support for the cause.”
