In profound sorrow the professional and courteous staff of the Christian Way Funeral Home sorrowfully announces the earthly departure of Pastor Roosevelt Allen Sr. Pastor Allen answered to his name on November 15, 2014 and said “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith, now there is in store for me a crown of righteousness, which the lord the righteous Judge shall give me at that day.”
Pastor Allen was born January 25, 1928 to the late Anthony Allen and Mamie (Cole) Allen. He was the Pastor of the new Beginnings Church of God in Christ in Gould, Arkansas. Survivors include his faithful and devoted wife of 70 years; Mary Allen. Daughters – Gloria (Eddie) Randolph, Betty (Cardell) Hall, Marry Allen, Ruthie (Reginald) Prunty, Lorena A. Claibourne, Carrie (Mark) Clemons, Ruby (Billy) Jones, Shirley (Curtis) Phillips and Dorothy (Joseph) Livingston. Sons- Roosevelt (Bobbie) Allen, Alexander (Mandy) Allen, David (Carolyn) Allen, John (Beulah) Allen, Edward (Renna) Allen, Johnnie Allen, Ricky Allen and Tyrone Allen. Brother – John Henry Allen. Sisters- Mamie Griffith, Roberta Banks and Lee Ana Ward.
Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 22, 2014 at Bethlehem Worship Center in Dumas, Arkansas. Visitation/ Family Hour will be 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. at Holy Temple Church of God in Christ in Dumas, Arkansas on Friday, November 21, 2014.
