Mr. Robert Bowie, 87, of Pine Bluff was born January 6, 1929 to the late John M. and Eddie Dorton Bowie. He made his transition to glory on Sunday April 17, 2016.
Robert served in the United States Army for six years. He worked for Greyhound Bus Station for 32 years as a porter and retired in 1986.
He leaves to cherish his memories a devoted wife, Mae Etta Stoudemire Bowie of 43 years; one son, Otis Bowie of Milwaukee, Wis.; three daughters, Sharon (William ) Albritton of Augusta, Ga., Robbie (Lampkin) Holmes of Houston, Texas, and Margie Bowie of Philadelphia, Pa.; a sister, Johnnie Mae White of Pine Bluff, Ark.; three step-children, Versie Parks, Vernoris (Felicia ) of Brentwood, Tenn. and Jerry Johnson of Hampton, Va.; a special grandson, Randy Parks and a host of grandchildren and other relatives and friends.
Funeral service will be 3 p.m., Saturday, April 23, 2016 at First Baptist Church in Dewdrop by Rev. Tommy L. Breamsey. Interment will be in Forrest Lawn Cemetery by Brown Funeral Home of Pine Bluff.
Visitation will be Friday, 5:00-6:30 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home.
His body will lie in-state Saturday, at 2:15 p.m. until service.
