Pine Bluff police captured an inmate Monday morning who had escaped from the Pine Bluff Unit of the Arkansas Department of Corrections.
Phillip Layton is serving a 12-year sentence for sexual assault out of Pulaski County, according to a news release from the Department of Corrections.
Layton was reported escaped early Monday morning from the Pine Bluff Unit.
“Officers were in the process of searching the unit when we received notification from Pine Bluff PD they had the inmate in custody. Internal affairs is currently conducting an investigation,” according to the release.
