One Pine Bluff man was killed and another injured in a one-vehicle accident shortly after noon Saturday near Willow Pond Drive, according to an accident report issued by the Arkansas State Police.
The driver, Henry D. Pierce, 52, of 12110 Dollarway Road, was pronounced dead at the scene by Jefferson County Coroner Chad Kelley at approximately 1:13 p.m.
A passenger, identified as Eddie J. Thompson, 25, was taken to Jefferson Regional Medical Center to be treated for his injuries, but his condition was not known Saturday night.
The accident report says Pierce was driving a 2015 Chevrolet Corvette north on SH365 near Willow Pond Drive, and the report said the vehicle “drove off the roadway striking several trees. Occupants were ejected from the vehicle.”
Road conditions were described as dry, and the weather clear, according to the report.
The ASP investigating officer was Philip Felton, and no other information was available as the Commercial was preparing for press Saturday night.
