Funeral services for Mary L. Hunter Walker, 56, of Pine Bluff, passed Sunday Oct. 26, at her home will be held Saturday 10 a.m. Living Word Baptist Church 5617 Sulphur Springs Rd. Pine Bluff, Rev. Alvin C. Lowe pastor.
She was born September 7, 1956 in Sherrill, Ark., daughter of the late Corinthans Penister, Arnett(Barbee) Moore. She gave her life to Christ at an early age and United with Corith Baptist Church of Sherrill, Ark., where she served as church treasurer, a member of church choir, later she joined Prairie Lake Baptist church under leadership of Rev. Alvin C. Lowe. She started a career with Arkansas Dept. of Corrections where she rose to the Sergeant in the Pine Bluff unit. She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers, Louis Penister, Robert C. Davis, Leon HArris, LeRoy Penister, Rickey Moore, two sisters, Nora Ann Bryant , Bobbie J. Murphy, step-son Brent Walker.
She leaves to cherish her memories, Husband, Dwight Walker, of Pine Bluff, one son Corinthans Penister(Natie M.) of Pine Bluff, step daughter, Asia Walker, one brother, John Penister of Houston, Texas, two sisters, Florence McMclinton of Pine Bluff Sheila Bishop of Pine Bluff, eight grandchildren, Desmond Hunter, Lauren Bell, Shane Henry all of Pine Bluff, Arizona Caffey, Kennedy Caffey, Lauren, Lawson, Jordan, Brooklyn, all of Little Rock, three great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation may be made Friday 6:30-7:30 p.m. at the Funeral Home. Remains will lie in state at the church Saturday 9-10 a.m. time of Funeral. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Cemetery. Services by Perry Funeral Home.
