LAKE VILLAGE — George Q. Rauls, age 50, of Lake Village, died Sunday, July 1, 2012, at Chicot Memorial Medical Center in Lake Village. He was born April 21, 1962, in Dermott, the son of the late George J. Rauls and Nadine Tullos Rauls and was a U. S. Merchant Marine and a member of Oak Grove Free Will Baptist Church. He was Captain of Motor Vessel Bill Atkinson and was employed by Pine Bluff Sand and Gravel Co. for many years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Nadine Rauls, by a sister, Margie Rauls and by a grandson, Landon S. Sherland. Survivors are his wife, Teri Buchanan Rauls of Lake Village; a son, George Q. Rauls Jr. “Little Jr.” and his wife, Meribeth, of Montrose; Two daughters, Megan L. Rauls of Grenada, Miss. and Courtney Swain of Jonesboro; Five brothers, David Rauls and wife, Debo, Jason Rauls and wife, Paula, Shannon Rauls and wife, Lena, all of Lake Village, Terry Rauls and wife Daffy, of Kilbourne, La. and Randy Rauls and wife, Tracy, of McGehee and Four grandchildren, David Q. Rauls, Carson Leighann Rauls, Hayden Elizabeth Sherland and Jackson Eli Johnson.
Visitation is from 5-7 p.m. Monday at Bishop Funeral Home. Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 3, 2012, at Oak Grove Cemetery with Bro. Phillip Payne officiating. Arrangements are by Bishop Funeral Home of Lake Village.
Pallbearers are his son, George Jr. and his five brothers, David, Terry Randy, Jason and Shannon Rauls.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to St. Judes Childrens Research Hospital or the Winthrop Rockefeller Cancer Institute.
