THE TWELFTH EPISCOPAL DISTRICT of the African Methodist Episcopal Church, representing Arkansas and Oklahoma, invites the public to the official investiture ceremony of Bishop Silvester Scott Beaman as president of the Council of Bishops of the AME Church. This ceremony will take place during the general board and Council of Bishops Meeting on June 17 at the Omni Oklahoma City Hotel in Oklahoma City, Okla. Guests will join members in honoring the impact of Beaman and wife, Supervisor Renee Palmore Beaman. Bishop Beaman gained national recognition after delivering the benediction at the inauguration of President Joe Biden on Jan. 20, 2021. The district welcomed the Beamans following the 52nd session of the General Conference in Columbus, Ohio, on Aug. 28. The evening will feature special guest appearances by actors Jasmine Guy and Jonathan Slocumb.
