m FULL FAITH CHRISTIAN CENTER, 1320 E. 17th Ave., will observe the 32nd Appreciation Service of the apostle, Isaac Barron, and pastor, JoAnn Barron at 3 p.m. Sunday. The featured speaker will be the Rev. Julius McDade Sr., pastor of New Direction Missionary Baptist Church.

TRUE VINE E MISSIONARY BAPTIST CHURCH, 1001 W. Second Ave., will celebrate the fourth anniversary of the pastor, the Rev. Leon Williams Jr., at 2 p.m. Sunday. The guest speaker will be Superintendent Timothy Jones, pastor of Bethlehem Worship Center Church of God in Christ in Dumas. The theme is The Assignment is Worth the Labor (I Cor. 15:59.)

PLEASANT GROVE MISSIONARY BAPTIST CHURCH, 1801 Indiana St., will observe Gun Violence Prevention by encouraging all congregants and visitors to wear orange on Sunday. “This is your invitation to join in this special Sunday observance, which will begin at 11 a.m. We look forward to seeing you there wearing orange,” according to a news release. The Rev. Dennis W. Wilson is the pastor.

PILGRIM MISSIONARY BAPTIST CHURCH, 2507 Hill St., will host Vacation Bible School from 6:15- 8:15 p.m. Sunday through Wednesday. “You are invited to come join us for a great time as we study God’s word. We will have classes for children and adults,” according to a spokesman. The Rev. Kevin L. Crumpton Sr. is the pastor.

BARRAQUE STREET MISSIONARY BAPTIST CHURCH, 1800 W. Pullen St., will conduct Vacation Bible School from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday. The theme is God’s Laboratory. The theme scripture verse is: “These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full.” (John 15:11, KJV.) Classes and group activities will be offered for all ages. The Rev. Sidney D. Milton Sr. is the pastor.

WOMEN OF FAITH will charter a bus to Branson, Mo., July 11 to see the live performance of “David” on the Sight & Sound Theatre stage. Men, women, couples and children (accompanied by an adult) are encouraged to attend. This is a turnaround trip with transportation and reserved seating included in the cost of the ticket, according to a news release. THE TWELFTH EPISCOPAL DISTRICT of the African Methodist Episcopal Church, representing Arkansas and Oklahoma, invites the public to the official investiture ceremony of Bishop Silvester Scott Beaman as president of the Council of Bishops of the AME Church. This ceremony will take place during the general board and Council of Bishops Meeting on June 17 at the Omni Oklahoma City Hotel in Oklahoma City, Okla. Guests will join members in honoring the impact of Beaman and wife, Supervisor Renee Palmore Beaman. Bishop Beaman gained national recognition after delivering the benediction at the inauguration of President Joe Biden on Jan. 20, 2021. The district welcomed the Beamans following the 52nd session of the General Conference in Columbus, Ohio, on Aug. 28. The evening will feature special guest appearances by actors Jasmine Guy and Jonathan Slocumb.
