JRMC urologists earn recognition
Jefferson Regional Urologists Drs. Nathan Green and Jordan Hanberry earned an UroLift Center of Excellence recognition.
“Jefferson Regional Urology Associates is honored to be recognized as a Center of Excellence,” Brian Thomas, president and CEO of Jefferson Regional, said in a news release. “This achievement reflects the hard work and commitment of Dr. Nathan Green and Dr. Jordan Hanberry.”
The COE program is designed to enhance the patient experience and improve clinical outcomes.

“Physicians achieving designation as a UroLiftCOE have achieved a higher level of training with the UroLift System and demonstrated a commitment to care for men suffering from symptoms associated with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) or an enlarged prostate,” according to a news release.

1st Ward Living Grace gala set
First Ward Living Grace Food Pantry will present its third annual Black Tie Fundraiser at 7 p.m. July 26 at Sahara Temple, 820 S. Main St. Proceeds from the fundraiser go toward the pantry’s mission of feeding those in need.
This year the honoree is Jefferson County Sheriff Lafayette Woods Jr. Each year, First Ward Living Grace hosts the gala in honor of a community member who has been instrumental in supporting the pantry, according to director Debra Allen.
The event will include a live auction and jewelry will be donated by platinum sponsor Bill and Sharri Jones of Sissy’s Log Cabin. Saracen Casino Resort is also a platinum sponsor.

Pilgrim pantry to give away food
Raven’s Nest Food Pantry at Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church, 2507 Hill St., will give away food Saturday from 8-9:30 a.m. or until all the food has been handed out. Food will be given away on a first come, first-served basis. Participants must bring a picture identification. The pantry is a U.S. Department of Agriculture distribution site and an an equal opportunity provider, according to a news release.
Women’s Connection sets luncheon
The Christian Women’s Connection invites the community to its monthly luncheon from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. June 19 at the Pine Bluff Country Club. The speaker will be Maria Johnson of Bella Vista and her topic will be “Who Me? A Princess.”
The special feature will also be Kim Bradley of Pine Bluff explaining how to make a USA prayer Flag Pillow from a 5×5 fabric square, according to a news release.
The speaker is one of six children of very poor parents who moved a lot, often many times in the middle of the night. After Johnson’s father died, a Christian paid her way to attend a children’s camp in Siloam Springs, where she became a Christian, according to the release.
“She married young, moved to California where her husband was financially very successful. She gave her relationship with God low priority for several years until being invited to a women’s conference where things changed dramatically for her,” according to the release. “She presents a very clear presentation of the gospel.”

Alumni honoring 50 Under 50
The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff/AM&N National Alumni Association announced the Beta Cohort of its FIFTY Under 50 Outstanding Young Alumni.
“This distinguished group of University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff graduates represents the very best of our alma mater’s spirit — a bold, visionary, and unapologetically commitment to excellence,” according to a news release. “These young leaders are making significant contributions across a wide range of industries, including the military, education, healthcare, law, politics, business, and nonprofit sectors. They are not only influencing today’s landscape but actively shaping a future defined by service, innovation, and impact.”
Each honoree has committed to supporting the university through fund-raising efforts, directly contributing to scholarships and continued student success. The association will showcase these honorees through various means. The celebration will culminate during the 2025 Homecoming Weekend at the FIFTY Under 50 All Black Affair on Oct. 11.
