HAMBURG — Dollarway became the first Southeast Arkansas team to win 20 games this season, dominating Hamburg 67-44 in boys basketball action Tuesday night.
The Cardinals also can clinch the 8-4A Conference championship Friday night with a win at DeWitt and McGehee loss at Lake Village Lakeside. Winners of 10 straight, the Cards are three wins away from their first unbeaten conference season since coach Ellis Berry took over the team in the 1991-92 season.
Dollarway (20-4, 11-0 in 8-4A) was led by Lawrence Allen with 14 points, Davonne Chapman with 12 and Kabion Ento with 10.
The Lions fell to 7-15 and 3-8, their postseason hopes possibly vanished with the loss. They have three games remaining and they were three games behind Dumas for the fourth and final playoff seed in the 4A South Regional tournament.
White Hall 54, Crossett 44

WHITE HALL — D.J. Freeman scored 22 points, two other White Hall players added 15, and the Bulldogs ended a three-game skid Tuesday night.
Freeman also pulled down seven rebounds. Jalen Wilkins and Percy Arnold were the other two Bulldogs with 15 points; Wilkins made five assists and Arnold contributed six rebounds and four assists.
White Hall (2-16, 2-8 in 5A-Southeast) trailed 21-20 at halftime but had a 15-8 third-quarter run.
For Crossett (8-9, 4-6), which came into the game tied with Helena-West Helena Central for fourth place in the conference, Shaquille Culbreath had 17 points and Josh Ballard 12.
McGehee 59, Warren 37
WARREN — McGehee raced to a 26-5 lead in the first quarter and didn’t let up in keeping Warren winless in the 8-4A Conference.
For the winning Owls (15-6, 9-2 in 8-4A), Dontez Racy netted 20 points and Zack Ellis had 11. VonEric Gonder led the Lumberjacks (0-17, 0-11) with 13 points.
Drew Central 56, Camden Harmony Grove 49
HARMONY GROVE — The Pirates (17-7, 5-2 in 8-3A overcame a slow second quarter and halftime tie to beat the Hornets.
Damarius Thomas led Drew Central with 26 points and Kashawn Powell added 11. Drew Central was tied at 21 at the break after being outscored 11-5 in the second quarter.
Next for Drew Central is a regular-season finale at Fordyce on Friday.
Little Rock Mills 53, Monticello 44
LITTLE ROCK — The Billies (11-11, 3-7 in 5A-Southeast) missed a chance to get back in state playoff contention after losing to the conference’s second-place team. No statistics were available.
A victory would have tied Monticello with Crossett and Helena-West Helena Central, the two fourth-place teams who lost Tuesday night at White Hall and Watson Chapel, respectively.
Mills improved to 16-5 and 9-1.
GIRLS
White Hall 56, Crossett 30
WHITE HALL — Behind Haley Baugh’s 21 points and a strong defensive performance by Patience Walker, the Lady Bulldogs (12-5, 8-2 in 5A-Southeast) blew out the Lady Eagles (2-16, 2-8).
Walker made five steals and finished with seven rebounds. Dana Brewer led Crossett with 15 points.
White Hall led 34-18 at the break.
Monticello 80, Little Rock Mills 21
LITTLE ROCK — The Lady Billies (21-2, 10-0 in 5A-Southeast) have set up a No. 1 vs. No. 2 conference battle at home against Watson Chapel, blowing out the Lady Comets (8-12, 4-6) behind Chelsey Rhodes’ 25 points.
Deanne Martin and Shanekqua Bolden had 14 and 13 points for the Lady Billies. Jasmine Perkins led the Lady Comets with 14.
Monticello will host Watson Chapel on Friday.
Drew Central 43, Camden Harmony Grove 27
HARMONY GROVE — Drew Central clinched at least a share of the 8-3A Conference championship, improving to 21-4 and 9-0 in the league with a rivalry game at Fordyce on Friday to finish the regular season.
Aaliyah Block scored 19 points and Adruna Simpson had 11 in leading the Lady Pirates to victory.
McGehee 40, Warren 38
WARREN — Ieisha Henry scored on a putback at the buzzer to give the Lady Owls (10-9, 5-7 in 8-4A) a key conference victory over the Lady Jacks (6-11, 3-8).
Monie Stinyard led McGehee with 10 points and Jessica Harris added seven.
JUNIOR HIGH BOYS
Warren 39, McGehee 36
WARREN — The Lumberjacks completed an unbeaten 8-4A Conference season by edging the Owls.
Ryan Clary and Darveon Brown led Warren (14-3, 7-0 in 8-4A) with 12 and 11 points. Warren will begin play in the conference tournament Saturday at DeWitt against a team to be determined.
Hamburg 41, Dollarway 38
HAMBURG — The Cardinals (11-11, 3-4 in 8-4A) came up short in their regular-season finale. Adrian Alford and Cameron Girley led Dollarway in scoring, but their totals were not available.
Dollarway will play in the conference tournament at DeWitt on Saturday against an opponent to be determined.
Ridgway teams advance to state
Ridgway Christian School bounced back from a 54-53 overtime loss to Cornerstone Christian Academy Friday night with a 64-53 win over Columbia Christian on Saturday in the Arkansas Association of Christian Schools South Regional Tournament.
With Saturday’s win, Ridgway earned a No. 3 seed for the AACS State Tournament, Feb. 16-18 at Columbia Christian School in Magnolia.
Larry Tate scored 28 points in the losing effort against Cornerstone and poured in 25 in the win over Columbia. Demetrius McCullough followed Tate with 16 points on Saturday.
Ridgway’s girls beat Cornerstone 46-38 Friday night to advance to the championship game against Columbia, to which the Lady Eagles suffered a 60-32 loss. The Lady Eagles will be a No. 2 seed in the state tournament.
Ehvan Shaw paced Ridgway in Friday’s win with 13 points while Dyimond Anderson finished with 10. Hailey Wilkins and Madison Heflin had nine each.
Shaw was the leading scorer in Saturday’s loss with 7 points.
The Ridgway boys will open play in the state tournament against Van Buren Christian Academy at 11:30 a.m. Feb. 17, while the girls will begin play against Southwest Christian Academy at 1 p.m. that day.
Ridgway’s junior high boys play Arkansas School for the Deaf in their state tournament at 2:40 p.m. this Friday at Southwest in Little Rock. The Eagles finished second in the region.
The junior high Lady Eagles host ASD in the tournament at 5 p.m. Friday and are regional champions.
