GOULD — A Gould man is being held at the Lincoln County jail on a $5,000 bond after a judge ruled there was probable cause to charge him with commercial burglary following an attempted break-in at the Exxon station in Gould Friday night.
Rodney Antonio Tensely, 32, of Gould, appeared before Lincoln County District Judge Vic Harper on Monday who ruled that probable cause existed to charge Tensely with commercial burglary, criminal mischief second degree and obstructing governmental operations.
A report by Lincoln County Deputy Sheriff Gary Darrough said he was dispatched to an alarm call at the Filling Station on U.S. 65 South in Gould at about 11:52 p.m. Friday when he received a call from Grady Patrolman Monty Motsinger offering assistance.
When Darrough arrived at the station, Motsinger told him he had spoken to a man he had seen in the vicinity of the Filling Station, where a window had been broken out, and questioned him.
The man, Tensely, said he was just walking home from his father’s house and happened to be near the Filling Station when the alarm went off. Tensely said he had nothing to do with breaking the window.
After further questioning, Darrough released Tensely. After the key holder of the business arrived, Darrough went inside and viewed a video surveillance tape which the report said showed Tensely walking around the store before breaking the window.
Darrough and Sgt. Kenneth Tillman then searched for Tensely but could not find him. However, Tillman found Tensely on Saturday morning walking in Gould and arrested him.
