CADC offers crisis energy assistance

The Central Arkansas Development Council at Fordyce will provide crisis intervention assistance to eligible recipients through the Crisis Low-Income Home Energy Assistance program.

To qualify for crisis LIHEAP, participants must have an energy bill with a disconnect date within 7 days of the LIHEAP application date.

Applicants for LIHEAP assistance must meet income guidelines and furnish proof of all household income for the month prior to applying. For a household of 1, monthly countable income is $1,462. All households receiving food stamps are potentially eligible, but the program is not limited to food stamp recipients.

Applications will be accepted beginning Feb. 21, Monday through Wednesday, 8 a.m. until noon, at the CADC Dallas County Office in Fordyce.

In addition to the crisis program, applications for regular energy assistance are still being accepted until March 30 or until funds are depleted. Details: Call 870-352-8894.
