STAR CITY – Betty Jean Hill Green, 77, of Star City died Sunday at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Pine Bluff. She was born September 5, 1938 in Lincoln County to the late Eual Garland and Linnie Belle Ricks Hill.
She was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church near Star City. She retired from Arkansas Department of Correction as Head of the Industrial Department to start her fishing career. She was a member of the Rising Star Fishing Club.
Also preceding her in death were four brothers, E. G. Hill, Roland J. Hill, Troy L. Hill and Bobby Joe Hill; and 2 sisters, Euist A. Ross and Lorene Vanlandingham.
Survivors include her husband, Earl Gene Green; son, David Earl Green, both of Star City; daughter, Beverly Green McKennon of Pine Bluff; four grandchildren, Michael Earl McKennon, Thomas R. Green, Jennifer Green and Gari DeAnn McKennon; and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services are 10 a.m. Wednesday at Griffin Funeral Chapel with Bro. Tom Lamb officiating. Visitation is 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial at Drake Cemetery. Pallbearers are Miles McGriff, Mike McGriff, TR Green, Michael Vick, Franklin Long and Mike Brockman. Honorary pallbearers are Toby Hill and Robert Hankins.
