Pine Bluff oncologist Dr. Omar Atiq has been appointed an alternate delegate to the American Medical Association.
In this role, Atiq will be working on a national level to protect the interests of patients and improve health care, according to a news release.
Atiq, who has also served as president of the Arkansas Medical Society, was elected during a recent meeting of the organization at the Winthrop Rockefeller Institute on Petit Jean Mountain.
