CrossFit 1210 at Pine Bluff is celebrating its first anniversary and plans to host the second annual “Murph Challenge” workout.
The “Murph Challenge” WOD (workout of the day) will begin at 8 a.m. Saturday, May 28, at CrossFit 1210, 3200 Catalpa St.
The “Murph Challenge” is named for the late Navy Lt. Michael Murphy, who, as a member of the U.S. Navy Seals, was killed in Afghanistan on June 28, 2005. The workout he named “Body Armor” was renamed “The Murph” after he died.
The Murph WOD consists of a one mile run, 100 pull ups, 200 push ups, 300 air squats with a one mile run at the end. Most athletes will perform this workout wearing a 20 pound vest or body armor.
Athletes from Pine Bluff, White Hall, and the surrounding community and the state will be here that day to challenge themselves and honor a true American hero.
Interested participants or for those who want to cheer on others are invited to attend. To become a participant in the “Murph Challenge” register at CrossFit 1210, 870-723-0928, at www.themurphchallenge.com or visit their Facebook page.
