Mary Lee Bridges Smith, age 80, of Pine Bluff, died Thursday, January 29, 2015. Born September 8, 1934 in Lake Providence, La., she was a daughter of the late Wilburn Bridges and Hattie Bell Kelly Bridges.
A resident of Pine Bluff since 1965 and Mrs. Smith had worked for several years in the cafeteria at L. L. Owen Elementary School. For 26 years, she worked at Trinity Village, retiring as head cook. She loved fishing and working in her yard.
She was predeceased by a son, Michael Smith; three brothers, Bobby, Johnnie Lee, and Scott Bridges; and two sisters, Betty Lou Pace and Jimmie Lee Whitehead.
Survivors include her husband, Billy Gene Smith, whom she married on December 22, 1954 at Greeneville, Miss.; a son, Garry Dale Smith; a daughter, Penny Hurst; a brother, Leroy Bridges; a sister, Irene Frith; four granddaughters, Samantha Hurst, Jessica Reed, Alex Smith, and Liz Smith; and three great-grandchildren, Tristain Hurst, Kaelyn Harrell, and Braelyn Harrell.
Funeral services will be Monday, February 2, 2015, 3:30 p.m. at Fuller Hale-South Funeral Chapel. Interment follows in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be Sunday from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home. At all other times, the family will be at their home.
