Anniversaries/Annuals

Rose Hill Missionary Baptist Church, 2121 W. 26th Ave., will hold the 41st anniversary celebration honoring Rev. G.L. Ford Jr. at 3 p.m. Sunday. The guest preacher will be the Rev. Christopher Jackson, pastor of Sharon Baptist Church and Davis Baptist Church at Prattsville.

The appreciation program honoring the Webb Sisters will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Amos Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, 2401 Port Road. The special guests will be Travis Jackson and the Boyz of Hot Springs, Highland Choir, and Lampkin Chapel Choir. The Rev. Robert Willis, pastor of Amos Chapel, will deliver the sermon.

Gospel Temple Missionary Baptist Church, 1100 Oakwood Road, will celebrate its choir annual at 3 p.m. Sunday. The special guests will be the St. Peter’s Rock choir.

Barnett Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, 1321 N. Birch St., will hold its Christmas musical at 3 p.m. Sunday featuring Pure Purpose, Nu Vision, Nu Image 3, and more.

The Mighty Truelights and White Singers will sponsor a musical program at the International House of Prayer, 4106 W. 12th Ave., at 7 p.m. Sunday.

Grace Temple Missionary Baptist Church, 909 Wisconsin St., will hold a Christmas musical featuring “The Men in Black” at 3 p.m. Sunday.

Grace and Mercy Missionary Baptist Church, 817 W. Sixth Ave., will hold its first Christmas concert at 5 p.m. Sunday.

Special Events

St. John Missionary Baptist Church at Sherrill will hold its second appreciation program for Rev. Sylvester Dunbar Jr., senior assistant pastor, at 2:30 p.m. Sunday. The guest preacher will be the Rev. Stoney Shaw, pastor of New Faith Missionary Baptist Church.

St. Andrew Missionary Baptist Church at Altheimer will hold its annual Harvest Drive at 2:30 p.m. Sunday.

The guest preacher will be the Rev. Graylin Wilson, pastor of Second Baptist Church at Wabbaseka.

Mount Nebo Baptist Church, 3201 W. Second Ave., will hold its annual family and friends day at 11 a.m. during its morning worship service.

Rev. Walter Weatherspoon of True Harvest Missionary Baptist Church at Dumas will be the guest for the year end Thursday Night Live service at New Home Missionary Baptist Church, 2900 Catalpa St., at 7 p.m. Sunday.

Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church, U.S. 65 S. at the Noble Lake community, will hold a benefit program in honor of Peggy Akins at 7 p.m. Sunday. The guest preacher will be the Rev. George Glass, pastor of New Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church at Bastrop, La.

First Baptist Church, U.S. 425, will hold its annual pastor’s aid program at 3 p.m. Sunday. The guest preacher will be the Rev. Jimmy Polk, pastor of Rankin Chapel Church.

Mount Carmel Missionary Baptist Church, 900 Grant St., will hold its annual hospitality fellowship program at 3 p.m. Sunday. The guest preacher will be the Rev. George Toney, pastor of Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church.

Old Morning Star Baptist Church, 3116 Port Road, will host the 100 Men and Women in Red service at 7 p.m. Saturday. Warren Booker Jr. will be the worship leader.

The deacon ordination program for Nathaniel McDonald will be at Daniel Chapel Missionary Baptist Church at Moscow at 3 p.m. Sunday. The guest preacher will be the Rev. Jerry Hayes, pastor of Old Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church.

Women’s/Men’s Day

Eighth Avenue Missionary Baptist Church, 1200 W. Eighth Ave., will hold its annual Women’s Day program at 11 a.m. Sunday. The guest speaker will be Juanita Harris.

Youth

Turning Point Word and Ministry at Wilmar will hold its youth conference Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Various workshops, praise dancing, singing and other events will be held.
