YouthPartners will host the Imagination Library Salad Luncheon fundraiser from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 26, at the Donald W. Reynolds Community Services Building.
Proceeds from the luncheon will help sponsor books for children in Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library in Jefferson County. The event will also celebrate and show appreciation to all local supporters, a spokeswoman said in a news release.
The Imagination Library allows a free, age-appropriate book to be mailed every month to a child’s home (in their name.) All Jefferson County children are eligible to enroll in the program from birth and will receive books until age 5, the spokeswoman said.
Sponsored by YouthPartners, a United Way of Southeast Arkansas partner agency, the program also is supported by other contributors including the Pine Bluff Area Community Foundation, Simmons Bank, Relyance Bank, Evergreen Packaging, Pine Bluff Sand and Gravel, Harold S. Seabrook Trust, Scott and Mary Whiteaker, St. Marion District Women, Maxine Lane Memorials, Reverend H.O. Gray Memorials, Retired Teachers Association and Jefferson County Democratic Women.
The library was launched in 2013 and has provided books to more than 700 children. Tickets to the luncheon are $10. Details: youthpartners@pbreynoldscenter.org or 870-718-0654 or 870-534-8251. Linda F. Bateman is executive director of YouthPartners.
