Improvements to Highway 138 will require lane closures in Drew County starting Oct. 20, according to the Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department.
The closures will be Monday, Oct. 20 through Thursday, Oct. 23, between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m., weather permitting, two miles west of the Highway 65 intersection at Winchester. Crews will be replacing drainage pipes beneath Highway 138.
The work will reduce eastbound and westbound traffic to one lane. Drivers need to be aware that a gravel patch will be placed over the repaired section. An asphalt patch will be placed the final day of work.
Traffic will be controlled using flaggers, barrels and warning signs. Motorists should exercise caution in all highway work zones.
