DUMAS — Mr. Will Edd Grimes departed this life on December 25, 2012 in Pine Bluff, Ark. He was born in Carden Bottoms, Yell County, Ark. on August 20, 1933 to Aubrey O. Grimes and Reba Branson Grimes. He is survived by his wife of thirty-one years, Linda Hammett of Grady; a son, William Scott Grimes and his wife Cindy of Dumas, Ark.; a daughter, Terri Lea Grimes of Warren, Ark.; a step son, Steve Smith and wife, Tammy of Garrett Bridge, Ark.; a step daughter, Kim Richter of Star City, Ark.; six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. He is also survived by two brothers, Harold Grimes of San Antonia, Texas and Melvin Grimes of Lake Village, Ark.; a sister, Marilynn Bradshaw of Gould, Ark.; and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews.
He served in the United States Army following graduation from Grady high School. He spent his working life in farming and trucking. His favorite hobby was crappie fishing with his wife, Linda. He was a member of Dark Corner Christian Church near Gould, Ark.
A visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, December 27th at Griffin Funeral Home, 109 South Brasfield Street, Dumas, Arkansas . The funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, December 28th at Dark Corner Christian Church, located on Hwy. 83 southwest of Gould, Arkansas, with burial following at Dark Corner Cemetery with the Rev. Tom Bowlby officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Dark Corner Christian Church c/o Pearl Persons, 505 Dan Gill Drive, Dumas, Arkansas. Griffin Funeral Home, Dumas, Ark. is in charge of arrangements.
