Wayne Sibert, 91, of Pine Bluff, died Wednesday, October 22, 2014.
He was born September 3, 1923 in Marmaduke, Arkansas, son of Llewellyn and Willodean Pickler Sibert.
Mr. Sibert was reared and received his early education in Poughkeepsie.
He served in the United States Navy during World War II, earning the Purple Heart.
Mr. Sibert worked in construction as an iron worker with the Local 321 for over 20 years before working at International Paper in Pine Bluff for 18 years, retiring in 1987.
He was a member of Oak Park Church of the Nazarene.
Mr. Sibert enjoyed fishing and camping.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Betty Thompson; his parents; and brother, Victor Sibert.
Survivors include his wife, Georgia Clements Sibert, whom he married September 23, 1943 in New Edinburg, Arkansas; daughters, Joan Nekoranik (Richard) and Gail Bickley (Randy), both of Pine Bluff; sister, Dorothy Walls of Jonesboro; grandchildren, Melissa Lyons, Erin Bickley and Regan Bickley; and great-grandchild, Brooklyn Lyons.
A graveside service will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, October 24, 2014 at Cypress Memorial Gardens with Reverend Todd Howard officiating. There will be no formal visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice Angels 3801 S. Camden Road, Suite 12, Pine Bluff, Arkansas 71603.
