WAYNE A. CLANTON
Wayne Allen Clanton, 82, of Warren, died at Bradley County Memorial Hospital on Monday, Dec. 22, 2014.
He was born in Ingalls, the son of J.C. and Reba Clanton. He was educated in Ingalls and Vick and then graduated from Warren High School. After graduating from high school, he joined the U.S. Navy, was stationed on the USS Natchaug and fought in the Korean War.
He attended college at the University of Arkansas at Monticello and received his bachelor’s degree in chemistry and biology and later attended college at Arkansas State, working toward his master’s degree. He taught school for one year at Walnut Ridge and then worked as a chemical analyst working with various leading color dispersion companies. He spent his final three career years as president and chief executive officer at Spartan Color and Chemical in Houston.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Timothy Dale Clanton; and two grandchildren, Jennifer Diane Clanton and Matthew Ryan Reeves.
Survivors include his wife, Ora King Clanton; three children, David Allen Clanton of Warren, Mark Anthony Clanton of Warren, and Dr. Cathy Colleen Clanton Reeves of Bowling Green, Ky.; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Shirley Clanton of Warren, Elizabeth Smith of Warren, and Helen Ferguson of Little Rock; and two brothers, Danny Clanton of Little Rock and Gerald Clanton of St. Louis, Mo.
Funeral will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday at Frazer’s Funeral Home Chapel in Warren.
Burial will be at Union Hill Cemetery in Ingalls.
Visitation will be held at noon until service time Friday at the funeral home.
Memorials preferred to the Bradley County Veterans Museum or to the Shriner’s Hospital for Children in Shreveport, La.
