Watson Chapel High School placed second at the 79th annual A-State Communication Day for Arkansas high school students March 4 at Arkansas State University at Jonesboro.
Greene County Tech High School won the top overall sweepstakes award, Cave City High School came in third and Armorel High School took fourth.
One hundred and two students competed in 28 contests in areas including broadcast and print journalism, public relations, advertising, social media, narrative filmmaking, photojournalism, sports, debate and extemporaneous speaking.
Watson Chapel also won several first place honors, was named first runner up in the sweepstakes and garnered several other awards in the following categories:
