The Teen Court program is a volunteer program for teens in grades 9-12 in Jefferson and Lincoln counties.
It offers Teen Court volunteers an opportunity to decide on real-life cases of first-time offenders and serve in the roles of prosecuting attorney, defense attorney, clerk, bailiff and jurors while earning community service hours, according to a news release.
Teen Court volunteers routinely participate in community events such as fall festivals, toy and food drives, and annual Christmas events.
