UAPB sets forestry seminar at Cossatot College

The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff and the Arkansas Forestry Commission will sponsor a forestry production workshop at the University of Arkansas Cossatot Community College Nashville (Howard County) campus.

The event will be held at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 9, in room 101 at the campus, according to a news release from the UAPB School of Agriculture, Fisheries and Human Sciences.

“Aimed at woodland owners, workshop topics include forestry production practices for healthy woodlands, marketing timber, clustering opportunities for small acreage timber stands and tree certification,” according to the release.

Presenters will include Justin Mallett, Howard County forester; Joe Friend, UAPB forester; and Joey Wallace, Domtar sustainability forester, who will discuss Domtar’s Forest Stewardship Council Certification Program.
