Enrollment at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff remains just above 2,000 for the Fall 2025 semester, the university has reported.

UAPB totals 2,010 students – 1,802 undergraduates and 196 graduates – a slight decline from 2,049 during the Fall 2024 semester. The number of graduate students has risen by more than 4% from Fall 2024, as has the number of continuing and re-admitted students, according to university spokeswoman Stephanie Jackson. The student census was taken Sept. 11, Jackson said.

Twelve high school students have enrolled concurrently at UAPB.

“This stability comes as UAPB broadens access to new populations, including high school students who are earning early college credit,” Jackson said. “While first-time freshmen and transfer numbers are slightly lower, the overall headcount reflects resilience and strength in student retention.”

UAPB released its enrollment numbers a day after announcing it received a $2-million grant from the Thurgood Marshall College Fund to launch PRIDE RISES – Prioritizing Recruitment to Innovate and Drive Enrollment: Re-imagining Institutional Strategy for Enrollment Success. Jackson said the initiative will modernize recruitment, student services and support systems to ensure first-generation, transfer and non-traditional students receive the resources needed to succeed.

Southeast Arkansas College

Southeast Arkansas College reported an enrollment of 1,082 for the Fall semester as of Monday, a decrease from Fall 2024 by just one.

Of that number, 924 are enrolled in the traditional 16-week regular term. A total of 11,297 student semester credit hours are taken, and 753 students have signed up for full-time enrollment of 15 credit hours.

SEARK also reported 325 enrolled in the first eight-week term, which began Aug. 18 and concludes Oct. 9. For the second eight-week term beginning Oct. 13 and ending Dec. 11, 449 are enrolled.

UA-Monticello

The University of Arkansas at Monticello last week reported a 23% increase in overall headcount and 136% rise in concurrent student enrollment from the Fall 2024 semester to this Fall semester.

Kelsey Englert, UAM’s director of marketing and public relations, specified the university has a headcount of 3,525 and the number of concurrent students is at 1,221. UAM reported it “matched” its Fall 2024 undergraduate enrollment numbers; the school at the time counted 2,856 across all its campuses including 1,940 undergraduates.

UAM’s College of Technology campuses in Crossett and McGehee have reported increases in headcount, the university added, but enrollment numbers for those campuses were not indicated.

UAM added it’s created new academic opportunities for students through expanded campus-within-a-campus models with National Park College in Hot Springs and the University of Arkansas-East Arkansas Community College in Forrest City, among other initiatives and partnerships.

“UAM is focused on the future, seeking ways we can leverage our small, close-knit community to be agile and innovative in developing programs that serve our students and strengthen the region’s educational opportunities and workforce needs,” Chancellor Peggy Doss said in a news release. “The upcoming launch of the UAM Collegiate Academy and the introduction of a doctoral program in forest resources are significant milestones in this journey, and we are eager to carry this momentum into the new academic year.”

The doctoral program forestry will be the first to award a Ph.D. at UAM.
