Jefferson Regional Medical Center has promoted Peter Austin to senior vice president and administrator.
Austin has been chief operating officer at the hospital since 2017, when he returned following a stint with Piedmont Health Systems in Athens, Ga. He first joined Jefferson Regional in 2012 as vice president of the Physician Practice Network. Since his return, Jefferson Regional said in a news release, he has been instrumental in expanding the hospital’s physician network to its current size and scope.
“In his new role, Austin will assume a more defined leadership position overseeing the day-to-day hospital operations and practice management, building on his extensive experience and contributions to the health system,” the hospital stated in the release.
Austin has been recognized for outstanding leadership and mentorship within Jefferson Regional.
“Peter is an exceptional leader who has been instrumental in the growth of Jefferson Regional in South Arkansas,” Jefferson Hospital Association President and CEO Brian Thomas said. “His vision and dedication have been pivotal in shaping our health system into what it is today, and I am confident he will continue to guide our hospital operations with great success in his new role.”
