Four senior art exhibits will be on display at the University of Arkansas at Monticello beginning through Monday, April 16, in the Glassblock Gallery of the Taylor Library and Technology Center.
The event opened April 4, according to a news release.
Danielle West of England and Deavon Smith-Collins of Fayetteville will hold joint exhibitions though Monday, April 9. Sarah Slaughter and Heather Bratton, both of Monticello, will hold exhibitions Wednesday through Monday, April 11-16.
West’s showing is a combination of mixed media, spray paint, acrylic, watercolor, ink, graphite and ceramics. Smith-Collins pays homage to traditional African artwork in form, subject and color, reflecting her personal style as an emerging African-American artist, according to the release.
Slaughter’s work features abstract watercolor landscapes as well as expressive color ceramic pieces. Bratton’s exhibition will include paintings, collaged images, intense color and direct application of paint, according to the release.
Gallery hours are 9-10 a.m. and noon to 2 p.m. Monday and Wednesday, 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday, and noon to 2 p.m. Friday. Details: Tom Richard, professor of art, 870-460-1338.
