Eight agriculture students from the University of Arkansas at Monticello competed in the 2016 Southern Agricultural Economics Association Quiz Bowl held recently in San Antonio, Texas.
UAM students were Lance Blocker of White Hall; Landon Burns, Justin Calhoun, both of Star City; Alex Hensley of Hermitage; Coty Long of Bonifay, Florida; McKayla Patterson of Hampton; Martin Walker of Belzoni, Mississippi; and Kaitlyn Wilson of DeWitt. The students were accompanied by Bob Stark of the UAM faculty, who also served as a judge.
The quiz bowl brought together 140 undergraduate students from 22 colleges and universities in a test of knowledge in microeconomics, macroeconomics, resource and policy, quantitative, agribusiness and finance, marketing, management and general knowledge.
