Two arrested in pawn shop burglary

Two Pine Bluff men were arrested Tuesday in connection with a burglary at a pawn shop on Camden Road on July 15.

William Robinson, 19, and Devonta Piggee, 21, allegedly used a vehicle to run through the gate at Easy Pawn at 2804 S. Camden Road at 12:21 a.m., Pine Bluff Police Department Detective Mike Sweeney said in a probable cause affidavit presented in district court Wednesday.

According to the affidavit, the owner of the business reported that several long guns and one handgun were missing.

Sweeney said in the affidavit that the owner of the vehicle reported that Piggee and Robinson borrowed her car and when they returned, Piggee ran into the house because his finger was cut.

When Piggee was interviewed, he allegedly said he cut his finger on a display case at the business while Robinson denied any involvement.

Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney set a bond of $25,000 each for Robinson and Piggee after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge them with commercial burglary.
