Mr. Tony Maurice Simpson 49, of Pine Bluff, AR, transitioned from this earthly life to his heavenly life on August 19, 2015. Bro. Simpson was born May 28, 1966 in Pine Bluff, Arkansas to the late Alex Simpson, Sr. and Elnora Sykes.
Bro. Simpson graduated from Watson Chapel High School in May of 1984. Bro. Simpson continued his education at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff for one year. In 2008, Tony completed FastTrac Planning Program in Recognition of Entrepreneurial Achievement from the Arkansas Small Business and Technology Development Center.
Bro. Simpson was baptized at an early age at Greater Mt Calvary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late W.M. Fane. He served faithfully as usher at Prayer Garden Church of God in Christ until his death. Bro. Simpson will be remembered for his outgoing, and spirited personality. Preceding in death were his parents and older brothers, William Sykes, Alvin Sykes and Alex Lamar Simpson. He leaves to cherish his memory one brother: Jerry Sykes (Earnestine) of Pine Bluff; three sisters: Ollie Majors (Jewel) of Detroit, MI; Ardella Quirles of Toledo, OH, and Linda Polk (Lawrence) of Pine Bluff, AR, host of other relatives and friends.
Memorial service will be 11:00 am Monday, August 24, 2015 at Prayer Garden Church of God In Christ, by Elder Jerry Williams. No Visitation
