Tony Eugene Howey, 72, of Star City died Wednesday at Jefferson Regional Medical Center. He was born September 4, 1943 in Lynnwood, Calif.
He was retired from the United States Army and United States Marines, working for the Department of Defense, Lockheed Martin and the Pine Bluff Arsenal. He was the current Post Commander of V.F.W. #2746 and Roy Jason Fish American Legion.
He is preceded in death by his father, Melvin Howey.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Barbara Howey; mother, Kathleen Howey Leopard; son, William E. Howey; daughter, Rebecca Lynn (Steven) Hankins; brother, Rusty (Cheryl) Howey; sister, Deborah (Dan) Steffi; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services are 2 p.m. Saturday at Griffin Funeral Chapel. Visitation is 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial at Oak Grove Cemetery.
