DUMAS — Mr. Toby Burnett, Sr. 75, of Dumas passed away Saturday, July 14, 2012 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center.
Born June 10, 1937 in Dumas, he was a son of the late Will Burnett and Henrietta (Hicks) Johnson. He was a member of Rose Hill Baptist Church in Meroney serving on the Trustee Board and Choir. He was a retired police officer for the city of Mitchellville.
Survivors include his wife, Maxine Burnett of Mitchellville; four sons, Toby Burnett, Jr. of Pine Bluff, Jessie Burnett of Tampa, Fla., Jermy Burnett of Mitchellville, Lavondrick Martin of Liberal, Kas.; three stepsons, Lester Davis of Dumas, Rodney and John Green of Arlington, Texas; five daughters, Dianne Baker of Tillar, Joyce Holmes of Pine Bluff, Debbie Peyton of Little Rock, Joann Walker of Conway, Linda Burnett of Los Angeles, Calif., one step-daughter, Viola Blackmon of Conway; one brother, Roosevelt Burnett of Pine Bluff; 24 grandchildren; two great grandchildren.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 21, 2012 at Watson District Headquarters in Mitchellville with Rev. Jessie Jackson, Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery at Meroney, Ark. by Brown Funeral Home of Dumas.
Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Family hour will be from 3-4 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
The body will lie in state at the church from 9:30 a.m. Saturday until time of services.
