Former White Hall High School and Arkansas State University standout Tyler Zuber has been called up to the Tampa Bay Rays’ major-league roster.

Zuber, 29, is listed on the Rays’ active roster after spending time with the Rays’ AAA team, the Durham (N.C.) Bulls. Zuber went 3-0 with a 2.49 ERA and made 4 saves in 18 games in Durham. He also allowed 6 earned runs on 16 hits in 21 2/3 innings.

Zuber is a 5-foot-11, 195-pound righthander who was a key arm on White Hall’s 2012 5A state championship team, the first of two for the Bulldogs in a three-year period. He was a sixth-round draft choice by the Kansas City Royals in 2017 and made his major-league debut in 2020.

Zuber moved to the Arizona Diamondbacks organization in 2023 and pitched in 16 games, all in relief, for the Reno (Nev.) Aces.

He played later that season in the Dominican Republic.

Zuber has recorded six major-league decisions (1-5) between 2020 and 2021. With the Royals, he posted a 5.29 ERA in 54 games, giving up 29 earned runs on 41 hits in 49 1/3 innings.
