The Students with Opportunities to Soar orientation will be held at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 19, at the Donald W. Reynolds Community Services Center, 211 W. Third Ave.
SOS is a teen service/learning program for 10–12th graders in all Jefferson County high schools, according to a press release from Youth Partners.
SOS matches adult mentors in local non-profit agencies with students who want opportunities to volunteer and to learn marketable skills.
“The program provides safe environments for teens during non-school hours, hands-on job experiences, and the opportunity to serve their community at the same time,” according to the release.
