STAR CITY – Steve Gene Johnson, 58, of Star City died Thursday at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Pine Bluff. He was born December 14, 1956 in Lincoln County to the late Cannon and Florene Hicks Johnson. He was a member at Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church in Palmyra, member of Sanders Creek Deer Club and was a water treatment operator for Liberty Utilities in Pine Bluff.
Also preceding him in death was a sister, Connie Asberry and brother, James Wooten.
Survivors include his wife, Janet Dunnahoe Johnson of Star City; daughter, Steffanie Johnson of Cabot; 5 brothers, Jessie (Mandy) Wooten of Rison, Lonnie (Melissa) Johnson of Star City, John Johnson of Star City, Wayne (Lana) Johnson of Lake Village and Roger (Annette) Johnson of Hot Springs; five sisters, Christine Vilches of Star City, Mary Ann (David) Bolen of Star City, Sue Dixon of Star City, Linda (Pete) Smith of Watson Chapel and Irene (Homer) Fletcher of Sheridan; three grandchildren, Bryson, Skylyn and Hunter.
Funeral Services are 2:00 p.m. Sunday at Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church in Palmyra with Bro. John Marlar officiating. Visitation is 6-8 p.m. Saturday at Griffin Funeral Service. Burial at Palmyra Cemetery. Pallbearers are Brent Johnson, Brandon Johnson, Michael Branson, Lee Varnell, Michael Blasengame, Will Robertson and Dylan Wallis. Honorary pallbearer is Justin Branson.
