The Jefferson County sheriff’s office will be closed Thursday so personnel may attend the funeral service for Lt. Terry Wingard.
The sheriff’s office announced his passing Aug. 2. Funeral arrangements have been announced for Wingard.
Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at Robinson and Fuller White Hall Funeral Chapel, 8302 Dollarway Road in White Hall.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at White Hall First Baptist Church, 8708 Dollarway Road in White Hall.
Wingard had served in the sheriff’s office since Feb. 4, 2009, initially assigned to the Uniformed Patrol Division. He began his law enforcement career with the Pine Bluff Police Department on Jan. 2, 2007, serving as a patrolman.
“On Aug. 2, 2024, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office suffered a great loss in the passing of Lieutenant Terry Wingard,” according to a news release. “Please continue to lift up your thoughts and prayers to the family members, friends, fellow deputies, other first responders, county employees, and dispatchers who knew Lieutenant Wingard and worked with him.”
