Three finalists remain as selection is underway for the next president of Southeast Arkansas College.

The college made the announcement Wednesday, saying in a press release that the three had been chosen by a committee after an extensive search.

The three are Tyrone Jackson, president of Mississippi Delta Community College, who holds a doctoral degree in education; Douglas Miller, a vice president and chief administrator for the Utah State University Eastern campus who holds a doctoral degree in strategic management and entrepreneurship; and Dometrius Hill, associate vice president of academic affairs with Lee College in Texas, who holds a doctoral degree in higher education administration.

“The finalists will be visiting the SEARK College campus during the week of May 6, where they will have the opportunity to meet with students, faculty, and staff,” stated the press release. “Each candidate will participate in meetings and open forums to engage with the SEARK community.”

The college’s board of trustees will make the final selection from among the finalists in the coming weeks.

The new president will succeed Steven Bloomberg, who served as president of SEARK for six years beginning in 2018. Stacy Pfluger has been serving as the interim president.

“We extend our gratitude to the Presidential Search Committee for their diligent efforts throughout the selection process,” stated the release. “Additionally, we thank the entire SEARK College community for their support and participation in this important endeavor.”
