Following a 12-inning softball win Thursday, Holmes Community College completed a doubleheader sweep of Southeast Arkansas College with a 5-2 win in Goodman, Miss.
SEARK (2-2) scored in its first at-bat thanks to a Haley Cummings home run, only for Holmes (3-1) to take the lead in the bottom half with 2 runs. The Bulldogs made it 4-2 in the fifth after a Blair Walsh home run and 1-run single by Williams, then scored with bases loaded in the sixth.
Kyla Ashford hit a sacrifice grounder to give the Sharks their second run in the seventh.
Walsh went 3 for 4 with 2 runs batted in and 2 runs scored. Meg Glasgow and Campbell Blaine each had 2 hits as well. Roark scattered 8 hits and struck out 6 over 6 innings for the win.
Amber Racca was SEARK’s only multiple hitter, going 2 for 4. Holmes had 12 hits to SEARK’s 10.
SEARK will visit the University of Arkansas Rich Mountain in Mena on Tuesday.
