The Arkansas Activities Association announced Friday the initial fall sports all-star rosters for this summer.
Four Jefferson County football players have been initially selected for the Arkansas High School Coaches Association All-Star football game, which will be held June 22.
Pine Bluff lineman Makyrin Goodman and edge rusher Leon Williams were selected for the game alongside White Hall lineman Semaj Walker and wide receiver/defensive back Braeden Bell. All four will play on the East All-Stars team.
Crossett head football coach Vincent Newton will be one of the assistant coaches on the East team. The other southeast Arkansas players initially selected to participate are Crossett’s Taylin Paskel, Warren’s Ervin Rivera, Hamburg’s Stratton Herring and Fordyce’s Andy Luna.
Sheridan’s Laney Wallingsford was selected for the West dance team. The East dance team includes two students from southeast Arkansas, Dumas’s Jakayla Allen and McGehee’s Canaria Powell. The East cheerleaders include Monticello’s Riley Derryberry and Woodlawn’s Chloe Hargis.
The AAA also released initial rosters for the all-star volleyball game, but no southeast Arkansas athletes were included.
These rosters remain subject to change. All-star rosters for winter and spring sports will be announced at later dates.
