Sahara Shrine Circus to perform at Pine Bluff

The Sahara Shrine Circus, called the family event of the year, will appear at the Pine Bluff Convention Center. The show be held at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 25, and 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 26.

“The 2017 Edition of Sahara Shrine Circus, produced by The James Cristy Cole Circus, promises to be bigger and better than ever before. There will be more animals, thrills, chills and laughter,” a spokesman said in a news release.

Attendees are urged to show up early and ride an elephant, camel or pony or to have their faces painted.

Elephants from Africa and Asia as well as bengal tigers will be featured.

“For all the thrill seekers out there, the drama of high wire and the extreme danger of the giant space wheel will be presented – including the only woman to walk outside of the space wheel,” the spokesman said.

Performances will also incluide aerialists, dogs riding ponies, the comedy camel Cleo, juggling, hula hooping and clowns.

Admission is $15 for adults and free for children 12 and younger. Tickets may be purchased at the door or at the Sahara Shrine at 820 S. Main St. at Pine Bluff.
