KENTWOOD, LA. – Mr. Roosevelt Graham was born January 1, 1947 to the late Leola Holmes and Essie Graham in Dumas, Arkansas. He departed this earthly life on September 30, 2014 in Kentwood, Louisiana.
He confessed hope in Christ at an early age at Mt. Nebo Missionary Baptist Church in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. Roosevelt graduated from Townsend Park High School in 1964 and joined the U.S. Army. After serving 2 years in the U.S. Army he moved to Chicago, Illinois and worked for the CTA driving buses for more than 30 years.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Mrs. Shelia Harden Graham of Chicago, Illinois; one daughter, Stephanie G-Lyda of Charlotte, North Carolina; two sons, Anthony Graham of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, and Aaron Graham of Bolingbrook, Illinois; two granddaughters and five grandsons; two sisters, Maple James of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, and Leola L. Robinson of Hopkins Park, Illinois; one brother, and Eugene Graham of Chicago, Illinois.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, October 11, 2014, at Mt. Nebo Missionary Baptist Church with the Reverend Larry Battles officiating. Interment will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Garden by the P.K. Miller Mortuary. Visitation will be held at the mortuary from 5-7 p.m. on Friday. Mr. Graham will lie in repose at the church on Saturday, from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
