Funeral services for Mr. Robert Shorter Sr., 94, of Pine Bluff, passed March 05, at Jefferson Regional Medical, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 14, at Kings Highway MBC Rev Walter C. Mays Sr. Pastor.
He was born October 25, 1920 in Ladd, Ark., son of the late Emmett Shorter Sr. and Lucy Robinson Stuart. He was converted at an early age. He joined Kings Highway MBC served as an usher. He united in Matrimony with Carrie Lee Warren. He served in the U.S Military and retired from the Pine Bluff Arsenal after 28 years.
He was preceded in death by three sons, four sisters, one son, three grandchildren.
Survivors include four sons, Robert (Elaine) Shorter, Bruce Shorter, Ronnie Hawkins, Lee Shorter all of Pine Bluff; eight daughters, Ruby Lamokin of Detroit, Mich., Louis Shorter of Flowery Branch, Ga.,Wilma Kindle, Joyce Shorter, Rachel Shorter, Vernice (Lee) Meadows, Jessie Shorter, Eloise Shorter all of Pine Bluff; one brother, Curlee (Earline) Shorter Sr., of Pine Bluff; two sister in-laws, a host of grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be made Friday 5-7 p.m. at Kings Highway MBC.
Burial will be in Henson Memorial Cemetery Services by Perry Funeral Home.
