U.S. Sen. Mark Pryor recently encouraged firefighters to attend upcoming workshops in Arkansas that focuses on applying for federal grants that support equipment or personnel needs.
Throughout May and June, regional fire program specialists will host workshops on the FY2012 Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) Program and the upcoming application period.
The workshops are intended to help applicants understand the purpose, priorities and changes to the program. Attendees will also receive information about award evaluation criteria and additional fire grant funding opportunities.
The workshops will be held in Magnolia, Crossett, Forrest City, Marshall and Russellville.
