Progressive ABWA members discuss upcoming event at recent meeting

Members and guests of Progressive Chapter American Business Woman’s Association met recently at the Pine Bluff National Bank White Hall branch for their monthly meeting and luncheon.

The room was decorated with artificial geraniums in pots centered on white tablecloths. Nancy Rosen, the chairman of the food committee, brought meatloaf as the main dish. The menu consisted of meatloaf, strawberry congealed salad, brussels sprouts, macaroni and cheese, coconut pie, chocolate pie, orange cake, tea and rolls. Other members of the food committee were Linda Hurd, Linda Eifling, Jean Upshaw, Needra Hansen and Rose Mulholland.

Linda Eifling, chapter president, conducted the business session. The upcoming Business Associate Night was discussed. The event will be held Saturday at the White Hall City Hall, and “Reaching for the Stars” will be the theme. Georgia LaGrave will be in charge of entertainment, which will feature Kizzie Amos. Alice Erwin will be in charge of the speakers, which will feature talks from past scholarship recipients. Floretta Scott will be in charge of decorations. Lindsey Upshaw, Lauren Tyler and Jessica Ashcraft, who are scholarship recipients, will be honored at the event. The Woman of the Year will he announced at that time. Door prizes will be provided by Hurd, Eifling, Margie Murphy, Betsy Foster, Erwin, LaGrave and Rosen.

The chapter voted to honor Dane Reed as the Business Associate of the Year. He is the owner of Dane’s Auto Sales and a faithful scholarship and ad donor. He and his wife, Holly, have two children, Rebecca and Ralston.

Door prizes at the meeting were won by Carol James, Eifling and Jean Upshaw. The Dollar Pot was won by Hurd. April is the birthday month of Evangeline Samuel. Guests at the meeting were Carol James and Dianne Kelley.
